The previews began Tuesday evening. This is the first activity that the scene has seen since March 12, 2020.
“Our entire senior team was present at this first performance to greet people and talk to people. You can tell the excitement of being back. We would say welcome, but they are leaving thank God, so happy to be back. “said the Geva Theater. The centre’s artistic director, Mark Cuddy.
“Vietgone” is a comedy and love story about Vietnamese refugees, who arrive in the United States after the fall of Saigon.
The show was inspired by the real life story of the playwright’s parents.
“It’s kind of a show that’s very theatrical on stage, and by that I mean sets and lights and costumes and music and video projections and moving sets. It has all the tricks we can do so it’s a great reminder that this is what I missed, â€Cuddy said.
But if you want to attend “Vietgone”, or any show in Geva, you will need to follow these COVID rules:
- You must be fully vaccinated and you will need to show proof of vaccination upon arrival.
- If you are not vaccinated, you will need to provide proof of a recent negative COVID test.
- If you feel sick, stay home. Tickets can be exchanged for free.
- And finally, unless you are eating or drinking at the cafe, everyone in the building should wear a mask.
Tickets for “Vietgone” are on sale now.
The show opens Saturday night and lasts four weeks. Then, “A Christmas Carol” returns to the theater on November 24, 2021 and continues until Christmas Eve.
